  1. 1 pie crust , unbaked

  2. 1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries , unthawed

  3. 8 green or black fresh or preserved figs

  4. 1 cup quick-cooking or traditional oats

  5. 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar

  6. 1 Tbsp ground cinnamon

  7. 1 tsp ground cardamom

  8. 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg

  9. 1/4 tsp ground cloves

  10. 1 cup toasted and finely chopped hazelnuts

  1. Prick bottom of pie crust, cover with foil and bake at 375ºF for 10 minutes. Discard foil and set aside.

  2. Arrange blueberries on top of the pie crust. Place halved figs over the blueberries.

  3. In a medium bowl mix the rest of the ingredients, except hazelnuts. Mix well and spread over the fruit in crust.

  4. Finish with chopped hazelnuts.

  5. Bake at 375ºF for 20 minutes or until top is nicely brown. Cover edges with foil if they brown too much.
