  1. FOR THE CHOCOLATE CAKE

  2. 2 cups sugar

  3. 1-3/4 cups all-purpose flour

  4. 3/4 cup HERSHEY'S Cocoa

  5. 1-1/2 teaspoons baking powder

  6. 1-1/2 teaspoons baking soda

  7. 1 teaspoon salt

  8. 2 eggs

  9. 1 cup milk

  10. 1/2 cup vegetable oil

  11. 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

  12. 1 cup boiling water

  13. FOR THE FROSTING

  14. 5 large egg whites

  15. 1 1/4 cups sugar

  16. 2 cups (4 sticks) unsalted butter, room temperature

  17. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  18. 1/4 teaspoon coarse salt

  1. Follow the directions for the Hershey's "Perfectly Chocolate" Chocolate cake on the back of the Hershey's cocoa box. Double the recipe: Make 3-10" layers & 12 cupcakes. Crumble the 12 cupcakes to make chocolate crumbs.

  2. For the chocolate frosting: Double the frosting recipe. Add 6 oz. of melted semi-sweet chocolate chips (cooled). Mix well. Make 1 recipe of the frosting. Tint 1/2 with green frosting & 1/2 with blue frosting.

  3. For the Monster body: Make 1 back of the Rice Krispie Treats. Mold the Rice Krispies into a monster shape.

  4. Assemble the cake: Stack & frost cake layers with chocolate frosting. Add chocolate cake crumbs to exterior of the cake so it looks like "dirt" Place Rice Krispie monster on cake. Frost with green for the "skin" of the monster. Add a "blue" shirt. Pipe green fingers. Add the gummy worms so that they are look like the monster's hair. Add more worms so that they are coming out of the dirt. Add eyeball & teeth.
