  1. Raisin bran 1 12 Cup (24 tbs) (Post Brand)

  2. All purpose flour 1 34 Cup (28 tbs) , sifted

  6. Butter/Shortening 12 Cup (8 tbs)

  7. Firmly packed brown sugar 12 Cup (8 tbs)

  9. Soda 12 Teaspoon

  10. 1 1/2 cups grape nuts flakes / post 40% bran flakes / post toasties

  11. 13 Cup (5 1/3 tbs)

  1. Directions Cut rolled dough into shapes of pumpkins, cat faces, and crescents.(Use cooky cutters or make patterns from cardboard, place on dough, and cut out with knife.)

  2. Decorate with strips of gumdrops, small candies, or chocolate chips and bake as directed.

  3. Or bake and cool cookies.

  4. Then trace eyes, nose, and mouth, and wisp of hair with Orange Glaze for cooky faces.

  5. To make Orange Glaze, combine 2/3 cup sifted confectioners' sugar and 1 tablespoon fresh or reconstituted frozen orange juice in a small bowl; blend well.

  6. Then add about 10 drops of orange food coloring and mix thoroughly.

  7. To make Brown Sugar Glaze, combine 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar, 1/3 cup light corn syrup, and 1/3 cup water.

  8. Boil over low heat for 2 minutes.

  9. Add 2 tablespoons lemon juice and spread while warm.

  10. For Washington's Birthday, make Spice Cooky Cutouts (left) as directed and cut into tree shapes with cooky cutters or paper pattern and knife.

  11. Frost the baked, cooled cookies with a green icing and place half of a candied cherry in the center of each tree.

  12. For the Glorious Fourth, make Spice Cooky Cutouts and cut into star shapes with cooky cutters or cardboard pattern and knife.

  13. Frost baked, cooled cookies with a white icing and sprinkle with red and blue sugar.
