  1. 1 x --crust--

  2. 3 cups Flour

  3. cup Milk --filling

  4. 1 1/2 cup Sugar

  5. 2 tablespoons Flour --glaze--

  6. 2 teaspoons Milk

  7. 1 cup Shortening

  8. teaspoon Salt

  9. 1 each Egg yolk

  10. 6 cups Apples, peeled and sliced

  11. cup Margarine

  12. 1 tablespoon Cinnamon

  13. cup Powdered sugar

  14. teaspoon Almond extract

  1. Mix flour and salt, cut in shortening, combine milk and egg yolk and add to flour. Roll out half the mixture on a floured surface to fit 11x16x1/2 inch jelly roll pan. Place in pan.

  2. Mix all filling ingredients together and spread over dough. Roll remaining pastry and place over filling. Brush pastry with 1 egg white, stiffly beaten. Bake at 375F 45 minutes.

  3. Mix together glaze, drizzle over cooled danish. Cut into bars.
