  1. 2 lbs 908g / 32oz Top round steak

  2. 1/4 cup 15g / 1/2oz Flour

  3. 1/2 teaspoon 2 1/2ml Salt

  4. 1/4 teaspoon 1 1/3ml Pepper

  5. 1/4 teaspoon 1 1/3ml Garlic or celery salt

  6. 6 tablespoons 90ml Butter

  7. 1 tablespoon 15ml Onion - finely chopped (large)

  8. 1 cup 62g / 2 1/5oz Beef bullion

  9. 1 cup 146g / 5.1oz Sharp cheddar cheese - grated

  10. 2 tablespoons 30ml Parsley - finely chopped

  1. Steak should be cut in thin slices. Pound steak out until it is about 1/4-inch thick. Combine flour, salt, pepper and garlic salt and rub into steak on both sides.

  2. Allow to stand for 5 minutes, then cut into 8-10 serving pieces. Heat butter in a large, heavy frying pan and brown steak on both sides over moderate heat.

  3. Sprinkle with chopped onion and add bullion. Bring to a boil, cover pan, and simmer for 1 hour or until steak is tender.

  4. Sprinkle cheese and parsley over top, cover again, and cook another minute or so to melt cheese.

  5. Good served with hot fluffy rice.
