  1. 1 pint dried bread crumbs, very fine

  2. 1 small onion

  3. 2 cups milk

  4. 2 tsp. butter

  5. Salt

  6. Pepper

  7. Nutmeg

  1. Put onion into milk and bring to boil. Remove onion and add 1/2 of the bread crumbs. Remove from fire and stir in butter and seasonings to taste. Brown remaining bread crumbs in butter and use them as a garnish for the sauce.
