  1. 4 pork chops

  2. salt and pepper to taste

  3. 2 onions, sliced into rings

  4. 2 sweet potatoes, sliced

  5. 2 apples, peeled, cored and sliced into rings

  6. 3 tablespoons dark brown soft sugar

  7. 2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper

  8. 1 teaspoon salt

  1. Preheat oven to 190 C / Gas 5.

  2. Season pork chops with salt and pepper and arrange in a medium oven-safe frying pan. Top pork chops with onions, sweet potatoes and apples. Sprinkle with dark brown soft sugar. Season with 2 teaspoons pepper and 1 teaspoon salt.

  3. Cover and bake 1 hour in the preheated oven, until sweet potatoes are tender and pork chops have reached an internal temperature of 70 degrees C.
