  1. 1 boneless pork roast (3 lb), trimmed of fat, cut into thin strips

  2. 3/4 cup chopped onion (1 large)

  3. 1/4 cup cornstarch

  4. 1/4 cup packed brown sugar

  5. 2 teaspoons ground mustard

  6. 1/2 teaspoon salt

  7. 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

  8. 1/4 teaspoon ground red pepper (cayenne)

  9. 1 1/2 cups ketchup

  10. 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

  11. 18 sandwich buns, split

  1. In 3 1/2- to 4-quart slow cooker, mix all ingredients except buns.

  2. Cover; cook on Low heat setting 6 to 8 hours.

  3. Spoon about 1/3 cup pork mixture into each bun.
