  1. 2 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted

  2. 2 eggs

  3. 1 cup packed brown sugar

  4. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  5. 1/3 cup all-purpose flour

  6. 1/8 teaspoon baking soda

  7. 1 cup finely chopped nuts

  8. confectioners' sugar

  1. Coat the bottom of an 8-in. square baking pan with melted butter. In a mixing bowl, beat eggs. Gradually beat in brown sugar and vanilla just until combined. Combine flour and baking soda; stir into the egg mixture. Fold in nuts. Pour batter evenly over butter; do not stir. Bake at 350 degrees F for 25 minutes or until bars test done with a wooden pick. Cool slightly; dust with confectioners' sugar and cut. Cool completely.
