  7. 5 tablespoons salad dressing -- bottled, -or-

  8. 2 1/2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

  9. 1 teaspoon salt

  10. 1/8 teaspoon pepper

  11. 2 teaspoons granulated sugar

  12. 1/8 teaspoon onion powder

  13. 1 1/2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar

  14. 1/8 teaspoon ground cumin -- optional

  15. fresh cilantro leaves -- for garnish

  1. Use radiatore, twists, shells, corkscrews, elbows, or some medium-size, shaped pasta made without egg, made with semolina and flavored with vegetables (red bell pepper, spinach, beet, etc.) Throw it together and serve warm. Serves 3 to 4.

  2. Makes 5 cups.

  3. Other notes - Salad is also good served at room temperature or chilled.
