  1. 2 ea Yeast cakes

  2. 1/4 c Water; lukewarm

  3. 1 1/4 c Milk

  4. 3 tb Sugar

  5. 3/4 ts Salt

  6. 1/4 c Butter

  7. 5 c Flour; sifted

  1. Dissolve yeast in warm water, put milk, sugar, salt and 1/2 the butter in pan and heat till lukewarm.

  2. Add yeast and flour.

  3. Cover, set in warm place for 15 minutes.

  4. Turn on a floured board, pat to 1/2 inch thickness, cut with 2 inch biscuit cutter, brush with remaining butter and fold dough over.

  5. Let rise 15 minutes on greasedsheet or pan.

  6. Bake in hot oven 10 minutes.

  7. Two dozen rolls.
