  2. 1 tbsp. vegetable oil

  3. 1/2 cup chopped onion

  4. 1 tbsp. minced garlic

  5. two 2 ounce cans tomato paste

  6. 1 cup brown sugar

  7. 1/3 cup Dijon mustard

  8. 1 tsp. dry mustard

  9. 1 tbsp. soy sauce

  10. 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce

  11. 1 tbsp. Tabasco sauce

  12. 1/4 cup vinegar

  13. 1 tbsp. lemon juice

  14. 1/2 tsp. pepper

  15. 16 ounce bottle beer(not dark)

  1. Heat the oil in a medium saucepan over medium low heat. Add the onion and garlic and cook about 5 to 8 minutes until softened, stirring frequently. Add the tomato paste, brown sugar, Dijon, dry mustard, soy sauce, Worcestershire, Tabasco, vinegar, lemon juice, pepper and beer. Stir until well combined. Heat the barbecue sauce to a simmer. Simmer 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Cool the sauce completely before pouring into an airtight glass or plastic container. Refrigerate the barbecue sauce until ready to use.

  3. Marinate chicken, fish, steak, pork or ribs in the barbecue sauce overnight. Baste frequently with the sauce when cooking.
